MED Food TTHubs was presented once more!

Where can somebody use blockchain?

This was the fundamental question that participants aimed to answer during the 5th edition of the IEEE Blockchain Initiative WG Series that was held online on October 30, from 16:30 – 18:00 CET. Under the topic “Introduction to Blockchain – Where can I use it or not?”, IEEE-PT Working Group, INOV, and ISRC, in a joint collaboration, brought together their vibrant community to talk about something they know very well: Distributed Ledger Technologies (DLT).

The MED Food TTHubs project had the opportunity to be presented at the event! The IEEE Blockchain Initiative is a hub for all IEEE Blockchain projects and activities and represents a valuable occasion to spread knowledge and information about the project. Following the success of the previous editions, a diverse mix of participants attended this fifth edition of the IEEE@Home Blockchain event and their discussion focused on the technical overview of blockchain concepts and implementations, along with use cases to illustrate practical applications.

MED Food TTHubs had a prominent place at the event. The project was presented as a practical example of using blockchain to increasing trust in food products. On behalf of INOV, Mr. Nelson Escravana highlighted the implementation of a traceability model based on blockchain technology to enable reduction of food fraud vulnerabilities, to shorten the supply chains, and to decrease the commercialisation costs.
