The first Joint Food Safety Conference of the African Continental Association for Food Protection (ACAFP), Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) and Africa Union Commission (AUC) took place virtually on 10th – 11th November 2021.
And… the MED Food TTHubs projects was also there!
The event brought together food safety professionals and practitioners from industry, government, international organisations, research, and academia as well as all individuals and organisations interested in protecting the food produced, distributed, and consumed in and outside Africa. The participants exchanged information and experiences on food safety related issues in the continent of Africa. They also shared ideas on how to improve the quality and safety of the food products that are produced in the continent, as well as those imported and exported.
Our partners from Egypt and Tunisia presented an e-Poster under the Subtheme 5: “Academic, Research and Development Partnerships in Food Safety: National, Regional, Continental and International Initiatives”. During the session our partners provided interesting information about the main objectives, methodology, results and contribution of the MED Food TTHubs project that support the implementation of full-path tracing practices through the whole distribution channel from seed-to-shelf.
